PARIS

We left home a week before the Greece tour would start with plans to visit Paris, Bruges and Amsterdam before heading to Athens. We had been hoping we had timed the trip right to see the tulips in the Netherlands, but I had never dreamed we would also hit Paris right when the famous cherry blossoms were in full bloom. This was a once in a lifetime, bucket list, dream experience for us. Paris is always beautiful, but trees loaded with cherry blossoms in front of Notre Dame took our breath away. We spent three nights in Paris, and enjoyed images of spring all over the city. We walked through Luxembourg Gardens as the tulips were bursting out and the palace was wreathed in yellow flowers. We strolled through Tuileries Gardens as it was adorned with spring flowers of all kinds. We saw Sacre Coeur and Montmartre with streams of fallen petals coating the paths. Sticking with our floral theme, we visited the Orangerie to see Monet's Water Lilies, and the Orsay to see some of our favorite impressionist works. It was our second visit to Paris, so instead of rushing from sight to sight, we were able to slow down and just enjoy the unbelievable beauty that was Paris in the spring. I will let the photos speak for themselves here as I show you our favorite snapshots of our adventure in Paris.

I imagine that Paris will become one of those cities that we can never get enough of, as there is always more to taste, more to experience, more to fall in love with. But alas, after three beautiful days, it was time for us to move on to our next destination: Belgium. We would be spending two nights in Bruges, with a quick stop over in Brussels along the way to see the Grand Place.
