Aberfeldy

For nights three and four of the tour we were based in Aberfeldy. The tour normally stays in Kenmore, but the hotels there were full because of the Ryder Cup being held at Glen Eagles. This turned out to be a great turn of events, because we got to see the beautiful town of Aberfeldy with its quaint village, and we also drove into Kenmore to see that area. Both were lovely. Aberfeldy is in the Perthshire region of eastern Scotland and is idyllic, full of rolling hills, green pastures and adorable cottage homes.

Hotel

Our hotel for Aberfeldy was called Moness Resort. It was beautifully set in the countryside in Perthshire and within walking distance to the little town. The rooms were comfortable, but what really stood out was the bathroom, which had a large jacuzzi tub. It was quite an unusual find for Europe! One fond memory was the first night when we could not figure out how to turn the television off - there was no remote, no power button and not even a plug to pull that we could see. We called the desk and he walked us through several possible options, as apparently the televisions are wired differently in each room. Ours was hardwired into the wall and could be controlled only by a light switch hidden behind the television screen. You learn something new every day! We had wonderful dinner experiences both nights at the resort, as the food was delicious and the staff members were very helpful.
